My Cross Fit Experience via Group-on

So...I found out about Cross Fit Harlem from a Group-on notification. Insanely inexpensive deal. I immediately jumped on it opting for a five-class package.
The class was being held literally up the street from my apt., and offered a combination of calisthenics, weight/strength training and endurance/stamina- building. I was excited and a little nervous, but I wanted to challenge myself.
I had already begun taking Zumba classes on Mon. and Wed. The scheduling/availability of the Cross Fit Harlem classes were so flexible, I was able to take those classes on Tue. and Thur.-Perfect.
My first class was very intimidating; there were some people there that looked very fit-and Syn came across as a very no-nonsense, take no prisoners sort of guy. I remember thinking to myself: 'Self, what the hell did you get yourself into??'.
The 'warm-up' exercise entailed running around the block twice. I labored through it, huffing and puffing, passing by people 'around the way' that I knew-HUMILIATING. When we had to do it wearing 25-pound weight vests, I didn't think I could do it-but I did.
I stuck it out and somehow-albeit barely-made it through the infamous 'burpies', hand standing by 'walking up a wall', never ending, variations of squats, pushups, situps; kettle ball thrusts...the list goes on and on.
Before I knew it, my five class 'special' was over. There were some days were I definitely felt like I was in over my head and I wanted to just quit and take my chunky butt home, but I didn't...and now I can't wait to go back.
