Britannia CrossFit is the light at

My home boxPosted 5 years ago by

Britannia CrossFit is the light at the end of my dark tunnel of laziness. It was the light of an oncoming train to kick my ass back into shape! I remember how sore I was after my first baseline workout. The crossfit community is very close and everyone is there to help. I would encourage everyone to at the very least take a sip of the nice cool frosty glass of crossfit. It's so sweet and an experience that might just change your life. No matter what your skill level there is a workout for you. I dream of doing every single female named workout crossfit has but there are just so many! I'll get there. I remember being really shy here but seeing other women doing things I had never done was inspiring and they as well as the trainers will get me outta my shell. They also don't take any crap from me : ) - Only I can sort my laziness out, I am even going to sign up for Tough Mudder that's how good and inspiring they are.

I have only very recently moved to Portsmouth and really wanted to give Crossfit 100%. From the outset, the professionalism of Britannia Crossfit shone through. From their awesome website, to the warm welcome I received at my first session, I knew I'd found somewhere special. Glen & Michelle have been brilliant in their coaching and the regular Crossfitters are a joy to train with. I generally feel at home after only 4 weeks! I look forward to the next few years here and representing BCF in competition in the future! RULE BRITANNIA!!

Awesome Introduction to Crossfit

My home boxPosted 5 years ago by

I met Glen and Michelle last year, when my brother and I were looking for a new sport to try, and Crossfit it was. I can honestly say that I'd always had an idea of what Crossfit was, but going to Britannia Crossfit completely blew them out of the water. I've never been in such a supportive encouraging atmosphere, doing workouts I never even thought I'd be doing.

Its been an awesome experience going to Britannia and one which I hope to continue to do. Crossfit, right now is my life, and I very much look forward to see where Britannia Crossfit goes. Glen and Michelle are both fantastic coaches and it is humbling to see how well it is doing, with all the people its got into Crossfit the impact its had goes way beyond the box doors.

Thanks guys, see you soon.

Rule Britannia!!

I'd never heard of Crossfit, except when walking past the door of Britannia Crossfit and seeing some crazy looking workouts. As someone who had been going to a "Regular" gym on and off for years (mainly off), I had never really taken a crack at any of the more intimidating gym equipment. When I showed up to my first class, over a year ago , my excitement to learn something new and get in better shape was dampened by a definite feeling of apprehension. I thought I'd be in over my head and I wouldn’t be able to do any of the workouts.

These feelings were alleviated as soon as I met Glen and Michelle; they are both incredibly knowledgeable, encouraging, clearly dedicated to Crossfit and ensure that you get the absolute most out of every minute you spend in the gym.

Crossfit involves a lot of complicated, free-weight manoeuvres that can be intimidating at first and quite dangerous if performed incorrectly. Glen and Michelle’s expertise and dedication ensure that these exercises were effective, safe, and even enjoyable.
Since starting Crossfit and regularly attending, I’ve lost weight, gained strength, improved stamina and I now really enjoy going to the gym! It’s so encouraging when a WOD comes around again, to see improvements in times or weight used.
